Sunday, March 11 Class Notes

Although we have a large contingent of our ABF in Florida right now, we still had good attendance once everyone got their extra 40 winks in spite of the time change. We had several visitors including friends of the Copelands.

Class Study Topics

Dennis finished our discussion on Matthew 5 this Sunday. Matt. 5:43-48 -- “You have heard 'love your neighbors and hate your enemies' but I say Love your Enemies.”

We prioritized several topics for future discussion concerning Christian Ethics. The first area we will discuss will be End-of-Life Ethics We decided we need to do this now to be sure it is finished before we are! :-)

This fall we will study Evangelism.

Dates to Remember

  • March 25 at 6PM is Celebrate SS. We will have a table to tell others about our class. We need help to do this and also we should have food items for the table.
  • April 28th we will have a dinner with Larry and Bev Smith (missionaries to Nicaragua – and Ambassadors ABF members). The Darkows have offered their home for this. Since many of the work team to Nicaragua were from our class, we will also have the team with us.

Prayer Items

  • Jerry is doing well after his shoulder surgery and is undergoing physical therapy.
  • Nancy also did well with her knee replacement last Tuesday. She is still in a lot of pain.
  • Larry Smith will join the knee replacement club soon and plans to be here April 28th. Pray for his speedy recovery and his ability to keep up his busy schedule.
  • Georgia needs employment and will have an interview later this week.
  • Pray for our soldiers in the Middle East. Many of our church family have returned but we still have friends and relatives over there and they need our prayers.
  • Paul's daughter and family (John and Lori) are moving back to Dayton. Pray for the Lord's leading.
  • Dave and Emily finally resolved issues with their insurance and the house should be rebuilt within 6 more weeks. Emily is due this week.
  • RosaLinda will return from Mexico this week.

Ambassadors Notes for the week of Dec. 9

This past weekend was a great one. We all had a good time of fun and fellowship together Saturday evening as we gathered for our annual Christmas celebration. The food was way to plentiful and good! I know I am not the only one to over-eat! I think it was John who is the new owner of the golden goose! But this wasn’t the only weird gift to be won. Ask Rosalinda about her jeans! These photos were provided by Bob Lawson. Thank you Bob! Can you believe, I didn’t even bring a camera? Many thanks to Mark Averitt also; for arranging for the Community Center for our use. It was perfect for our needs. Sunday was also another good time together as a class. John and Sandy gave us a “ Long and Short of it ” showing of their trip to Israel. Ambassadors ABF Notes for May 20th

Naiya Symone Simpson This Sunday was a little different for us; two weeks in a row, now. Dennis is still under the weather with a chest cold or something giving him pain. Please pray for him. Last Sunday we were fortunate to have Larry Smith give us an update taking most of our class time. This week, we spent the majority of the time doing prayer requests and praying. I think these times are especially good and they are pleasing to our Lord. I know I personally get more out of a prayer time like this. Anyway, instead of our normal dog on pony show with myself, John, and Roger Brandt plus Dennis before you, everyone was stuck with the dog, ME! Visitor We had a long distance visitor with us this Sunday. His name is Charles. He is an ESOL Student of Barb Sullivan’s and comes all the way from North Central China. Ambassadors Class Game Night (05/09/2008)

Friday evening, May 9th, we had a game night in the church for our class. We all played table games and ate snack foods. I would have liked to see more in attendance but I know that this Mother’s day weekend may have posed problems for some. As you can see from the photos below, we played a variety of games. Good times for fellowship and discussion. But, someone must be the expert to explain the rules. Hmmm, looks like our lawyer is examining the evidence! Watch out! This one will hurt! Hey!
