This week we have a few photos from the Celebrate SS evening program. We had a table with display panel (low tech) and PowerPoint presentation (high tech for Ruth).

You may have noticed that a number of our ABF members are active as teachers. Some of them serve during our class time and others served during the second hour.

A couple of them were also honored as long time servants in the SS programs. Nancy got a 40 year award. Nancy and Roger were both surprised by this and had guessed other names. Remember this isn’t necessarily for the longest serving teacher but is an award given in 5 or 10 year increments. So, there are certainly others who have served longer. Joyce Reese also received a 10 year award.

Our cookie bakers should note that we did have plenty; enough that we gave a care package to one of our Shepherds guys.

We will add a link to the message Dennis will give at the Cedarville Chapel on the Ethics of Homosexuality. You can expect that on Thursday or later.

Remember, you are welcome to leave comments here on the Blog.

This Sunday morning we had 42 in our ABF. We still have some of our group away and at least two members are not well enough to participate in class. Spring is here, so some of our “Snow Birds” may begin the migration north, soon.

PRAYER ITEMS

  • Continue to pray for Betty after her good report of improvement in her cancer. She will be taking a break from her treatments to gain strength and improve her general health but will begin those again in April. Pray for continued improvement and total eradication of the cancer.
  • Dan, the Cedarville student who had the spinal injury during the Mexico MIS trip, is paralyzed but there has been some improvement after his surgery. Pray for his continued improvement as he is moved to a therapy facility on Monday. You can also follow his progress at his Blog. BTW: This is a very active and popular Blog.

  • Jane L’s father, Colin, is in Miami Valley Hospital. Pray for his health and for Mercedes, also.

  • Jerry’s shoulder is doing better after surgery and therapy but he is now having back spasms from the therapy.

  • Nancy continues to improve after her knee replacement. This has been very noticeable in just the last week with her being able to discontinue most pain medications. She had the staples removed last week and the doctor told her she is doing well enough that she doesn’t need the normal in-office therapy as long as she keeps at it at home. This is very painful.

  • Larry Smith will have knee replacement surgery this Thursday. He plans to be here for our missions conference (and class dinner) one month later. We are guessing (hoping) that Bev will be doing the driving.

  • Jerry reminded us to continue to pray for his niece after the loss of her father and her partner of 20 years. She is also dealing with her mother who has problems and is now in a mental hospital. Pray for both of these ladies.

  • Georgia had a job interview and is now waiting for the results.

  • John and Sandy’s neighbor, Nancy, has cancer. Pray for Gordon & Nancy.

  • John and Sandy’s daughter-in-law, Gail, is dealing with her mother who is in a nursing home and thinks she wants to go home. Pray for comfort for this lady and also for Gail as she deals with this as an only child.

  • Fola reminded us that Yemi still has not sold her home here in Springboro and has the burden of two homes. Pray that it will be sold soon.

  • Rosalinda’s parents were both in the Emergency Room last week and need our prayers for health. Her father is suffering from early stages of Congestive Heart Failure and her mom was having severe knee pain from Arthritis (next knee replacement candidate?). Both are home and doing normal activities again. Also, her brother needs employment.

  • Rosalinda also mentioned (after class) that her Cedarville MIS account is paid in full. Praise the Lord and thanks to those of you and other friends who helped with this.

  • Dennis will address the Cedarville students and faculty this Thursday in their Chapel service. He will talk on the subject of the Ethics of Homosexuality. Pray for him as he prepares for this.

  • Also, Cedarville University is anticipating a protest group of homosexuals on campus this April 19th. Pray for a peaceful time and also for the spiritual conviction and salvation of these marchers.

  • Fred Tan is known my many of us. He is in the Liberty rehab facilities.

  • Continue to pray for our missionaries and service men and women in the Middle East.

CLASS NOTES

Today Dennis spoke from 1 Cor. 15:1-11. This is an account from Paul discussing the actual eye witness accounts of Christ’s resurrection. He (Paul) mentioned that many of these people “are still among us” about 30 years after the event. What a privilege it would have been to meet and talk with those people! But, even more glorious for each of us to meet and talk with them and Christ himself one day!

Next Sunday, Dennis will discuss the “Body of Jesus” from a physician’s perspective.

The week after “Resurrection Sunday” he will be joined by Dave Denlinger for a discussion on Heaven. This fits perfectly with our discussion of End-of-Life Ethics.

Don’t miss these discussions!

THINGS TO REMEMBER

Remember our dinner date with missionaries (and Ambassador Class members) Larry and Bev Smith on April 28. The Darkows have offered their home for this event. We will also include the rest of the mission work team for dinner since our class members were a significant part of the team. We will have food sign-up sheets and maps available later.

Barb Burkard also asked if someone would be willing to host a game night in their home sometime during the middle of April. If you are willing to host such and event, please let Barb know.

BIRTHDAYS

  • Nancy Jensen – March 27th
  • Donald Pulcifer – March 29th
