Another Grand-Daughter!

Image
Wow, this seems to be the week for new grandkids in our class. I received a message from Jim and Esther in Mongolia that their son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Kelsey, have a new baby daughter born the 24th. As you can see, her big sister is already getting aquainted. The baby and mom should be home from the hospital by now. Annie and Audrey Speaking of hospitals, Jerry S. has been released from Kettering as of last night. Because of this long weekend, nothing was happening at the hospital anyway. He will have xrays and a doctor appointment next week. Of course, Jane W. also had her knee arthroscopy this week. She is doing well and may even be with us Sunday. Continue to pray for speedy recovery for both of these. Also praise Him for these new little ones and pray for their physical and spiritual growth.

Prayer Updates

Jerry S is in Kettering Medical Center will a growth on his pancreas. They will do a biopsy then probably surgery to remove it. Yesterday we also mentioned the birth of Nathan Grant Trempe. I'm told that his grandpa is especially happy about that name because his middle name is also Grant. As you can see in this photo, Grandpa also enjoys holding the little guy! Please pray for both Jerry and Nathan.

Naiya Symone Simpson This Sunday was a little different for us; two weeks in a row, now. Dennis is still under the weather with a chest cold or something giving him pain. Please pray for him. Last Sunday we were fortunate to have Larry Smith give us an update taking most of our class time. This week, we spent the majority of the time doing prayer requests and praying. I think these times are especially good and they are pleasing to our Lord. I know I personally get more out of a prayer time like this. Anyway, instead of our normal dog on pony show with myself, John, and Roger Brandt plus Dennis before you, everyone was stuck with the dog, ME! Visitor We had a long distance visitor with us this Sunday. His name is Charles. He is an ESOL Student of Barb Sullivan’s and comes all the way from North Central China. Be sure to greet him, next time. Smith Fund Report We collected funds to help the Smiths and their transition back to the US soil from their mission work in Nicaragua during the ...

Wasn’t Sunday a fantastic day in our ABF as well as the church services in the morning and evening? Notes from Dennis’ report on the Cedarville event with Soul Force: The signed contract with Soul Force worked well and no legal intervention was required. Students who participated were required to attend workshops on the topic of homosexuality and the Biblical response. Although Cedarville did not compromise, Soul Force felt welcome and responded positively. One member of Soul Force admitted that comments from students “made her think”. Read Romans 1:18-28 for the New Testament response to the sin of homosexuality and immorality. We will discuss this issue further next Sunday. If you missed the morning service, you missed a great one. It was about "What it means to be a Samaritan Christian". You can listen to it here by clicking this link. Prayer: First lets cover the Praises: Dennis and Barb provided an update to their request for their daughter Joy who will be returning fro...
