Sunday, May 6

Wasn’t Sunday a fantastic day in our ABF as well as the church services in the morning and evening?

Notes from Dennis’ report on the Cedarville event with Soul Force:

  • The signed contract with Soul Force worked well and no legal intervention was required.
  • Students who participated were required to attend workshops on the topic of homosexuality and the Biblical response.
  • Although Cedarville did not compromise, Soul Force felt welcome and responded positively.
  • One member of Soul Force admitted that comments from students “made her think”.
  • Read Romans 1:18-28 for the New Testament response to the sin of homosexuality and immorality.
  • We will discuss this issue further next Sunday.

If you missed the morning service, you missed a great one. It was about "What it means to be a Samaritan Christian". You can listen to it here by clicking this link.

Prayer:
First lets cover the Praises:

Dennis and Barb provided an update to their request for their daughter Joy who will be returning from England. She lost her billfold with all credit cards and money. This was a very big concern since she needs this for her travel. Read what happened after your intercession with the Lord in prayer for Joy:

Dear Class,

Thank you for praying for our daughter, Joy. When she was out in a crowded restaurant on Saturday night, she thought that someone had stolen her wallet with her credit cards and ID. We cancelled all of the cards after her frantic phone call. She is leaving England today and we were concerned about her having resources to make the return trip. On Sunday, she went back to the restaurant and someone had turned in the wallet with all cards and money intact! (Impossible in her neighborhood!) When I called the credit card site to reactivate her credit/ ATM cards, if possible, I found that through some mistake, they were never really cancelled! Thank you for praying; it has made a real impact on Joy and her friends about God's provision.

We anticipate her safe return this evening.

Love, in Christ,
Dennis and Barb

Also praise Him for the wedding of the Pulsifer’s son and new daughter-in-law. I’m sure they will be happy to share the photos with anyone who is interested. But, they also provided one for you to see right here!
Of course the bride and groom are Aaron and Elizabeth. The gentleman between them is the pastor. The gentleman on the left is Elizabeth's 85 year old grandfather. In WWII he walked ashore in Italy as a machinegunner and walked to Germany without receiving a scratch. He promised God that if he survived, he would preach the Gospel until he died. He still preaches every Sunday. He shared duties in the wedding service.

Pray for:

  • Jane W – arthroscopic knee surgery May 24th
  • Neighbor of Burkards wife left him. He asked for prayer. Pray for George and Sandra.
  • Fola and Pauline’s daughter, Efi, is in Nigeria with her family for the funeral of a family member. Pray for her safety as they travel and during the time there.
  • Simmerman’s son-in-law, Randy, needs a good job. Pray for him and the Lord’s leading.
  • Georgia is still looking for a job. Pray for her as she searches.
  • Caleb H graduated from college. He also needs a job.
  • Dan G has his last chemotherapy treatment. Pray for him and for his improved health.
