Ambassadors Notes and Prayer Items for the Week of July 15, 2007
I am always at a loss for words for describing the experiences of our ABF! Today is no exception. Anyone who missed our ABF and the services today really missed a truly fantastic experience. We were blessed!
Although we had several members away, we still had good attendance. I counted 46.
BTW: How many of you have figured out who our “Guess Who” person of the week is? See post below for July 12.

Today we continued our study in James where we continue to discuss the passage in James 1:5-8 concerning wisdom and doubt. We were told to ask for wisdom in faith without doubt. One part of our discussion focused on the difference between knowledge and wisdom. Dennis gave us a quote from Wiersbe that I like; “Knowledge is the ability to take things apart – Wisdom is the ability to put things together.” (I love to take things apart but often have parts left over when I put it back together; does that still count!)
We looked at Mt. 14:29 & 30 where Peter walked on the water because of his faith in Christ but began to sink because of doubt.
Next week we will continue our study in James. Read through chapter 1 again in preparation.
Morning Services:
I really enjoyed both the praise time this morning and Pastor Kisner’s message.
Josh led the praise section of the services (pray for Charlie as he ministers in Germany) and gave an excellent testimony of his experiences at Jr. High Camp at Patmos and the trip home. It was very touching to hear about the prayer time for little Lindsay A (remember to pray for her, too!) and the singing. We finished the praise time with the song that they were singing as the bus drove into our parking lot, “One Pure and Holy Passion”.
Pastor Kisner continued his mini-series of passages that are important to him. Today he discussed a passage from John 21. This was the story of Peter after the resurrection where Jesus told the disciples (fishermen) to cast the net on the other side and they caught many fish. Then Peter jumped out of the boat and ran to the shore to see Jesus. Jesus commanded him to “Follow Me!”
It was also interesting at how well this message fit with our ABF discussion. Pastor also mentioned the story where Peter walked on the water until he doubted.
Link for Homestead Tax Relief
Roger Brandt mentioned that those of us over 65 should remember to apply for tax relief if we own our homes. This form must be completed and sent to the Montgomery Co. Auditor’s Office before October 1st. Get the form HERE! Just print the form, fill it out and mail it. Mailing instructions are included. The form is easy to fill out and should save you at least $400 for this year. If you don’t know what you can do with this ‘found money', let me suggest contributing it to our building fund!
