Ambassadors Notes for the Week of August 12th
It was great to have Dennis and Barb back with us Sunday. They have been away from our ABF for several weeks but we had good fill-in speakers. We are blessed to have men with the skills and strengths that we have. Anyway, Dennis and Barb have been in one of my favorite countries, Scotland. I am looking forward to seeing all 900 photos!
Prayer Items
Note: Items that are new since the email are in RED!
- Please pray for Chris R. His best friend Todd was killed Sunday responding to a fire call. His fire truck went over an embankment and he was killed instantly. Chris is taking this really hard. Pray the Lord would use this to bring Chris back to Himself.
- Joe R is having angioplasty and stents put in his femoral arteries Monday to help relieve pain Joe has in walking. Please pray that this procedure will be successful and also that the Lord will soften Joe's heart as he isn't saved.
- Keith and Maxine are grand parents. 12:47A.M. Friday morning, 9lb 1oz, 20 1/2 ins long. Pray for Areil and the baby girl. A photo of the new baby will be added when available.
- Dan M asked us to pray for a friend of his son-in-law. This friend had a serious head injury. He does not know if he is a Christian.
- Dave D asked us to pray for his grandson (Mathew) who had a close call from bleeding last week.
- Betty started a new treatment for cancer on over a week ago. Pray for her and the effectiveness of this therapy.
- Fred T is in the nursing home and Esther is also having problems. Continue to pray for each of these.
- Colin and Mercedes H (Colin is Jane L’s father) are having physical problems. Contact Pastor Bowser if you can help with meals.
- Sandy’s brother-in-law continues to improve but may need to have a pacemaker.
- Sandy’s sister (Rita) is still on antibiotics for the Kidney infection and will not have something done about the stone until this is over. Pray for her.
- Continue to pray for Roy Shelpman our missionary to Haiti. He had an angioplasty and installation of a stent. He and Ruthie plan to return to Haiti August 23rd. Pray that this will be possible.

Sunday we had visitors from Indiana:

Bible Study Time
Dennis is continuing our study in James. It is good to have him back with us. He also shared some of his experiences in the conference in Scotland. How many of you can give the definition of Theodicy?
James tells us that God is not the source of evil (1:13) but “every good and perfect gift is from above” (1:17). These would be great ones to remember for times when we are challenged by others about this. God does give us the ability to choose between good and evil.
Celebration Service
Pastor Kisner continued his series of scripture passages that are special to him. This week he spoke from Galations 6:7. “A man reaps what he sows!” If you missed it, you can hear it on the WHBC website.
Evening Service
Tonight Dr. Drullinger continued his study in II Corinthians 12 about Authentic Christianity. You can hear this sermon here.
“Guess Who”
Sunday evening I received two more photos from spouses. Check out the blog and see if you can guess who our # 5 is. So far, the responses show that this one is way to easy!
Guess Who #4 was a fun one for me, because it was me! J It may be of interest to know even my wife did not get it until I showed her the full photo which included my twin brother. Jane Weiss stopped me in the hall to tell me she was at a loss, because I am the only one she knows of that is a twin. Then the light came on! LOL
While we mention the Blog, I am going to try to add this to the Blog each week a day or so after I send the email. This way I can add immediate email requests; then as you give me updates, I will also update the blog to reflect the changes and additions. Although email will be the best way for early notification of prayer needs, the blog will also be a good way of refreshing your memory about the prayer needs during the week.
