Ambassadors Notes – October 7, 2007 (Updated)
- Bob and Betsy’s granddaughter is doing much better. Thanks to everyone for praying.
- Ann B. was admitted to MVH but and was expected to be released to a Bethany’s Linden House on Wednesday for therapy. She is still very ill and needs our prayers.
- Roger B. is having eye problems. Pray for the Lord’s leading on the next actions. He did visit the doctor on Wednesday and has some problems that need correction.
- Barb asked us to pray for the family of a DCS student who was killed on Friday. This girl was a soccer player on a team that Jessica coaches. Pray for the Winslow family and friends.
- Pray for Mark P. as he has a meeting this week.
- Betty did very well during their trip but she will be entering the hospital this Thursday to begin another round of treatments. Pray for her during this time.
- Ben (Booher’s grandnephew) still needs our prayers. The doctors decided that he had some brain injury because of his illness. This can be cured or greatly improved over time (up to a year). Pray for his healing.
- Russ went from Cambodia to Vietnam this weekend and arrived safely. Continue to pray for him and the others as they minister over there.
Bible Study:
Our evangelism topic was slightly derailed because of several discussions about empty churches in Europe and other parts of the world. Unfortunately, even though the evangelicals are vacating many churches the Muslims are moving in. Tony suggested that we should read the book “The West’s Last Chance” by Tony Blankley. I checked this online and found it is available for under $10. Several commented that “third world countries” such as African countries and S. Korea, are doing a good job of spreading the gospel outside their borders.
Next week we will continue our discussion with such topics as – Where do we see people coming to “faith” and how? Examples from Acts, Jonah, Abraham, Malachi, Moses, Woman at the well, man born blind and 1 Corinthians 15.
Dates to Remember:
- November 3 – 8:30AM meet at church to car pool to the Creation Museum near Cincinnati. Cost will be $12.22 for entrance ticket and an additional $3.77 if you want to see the planetarium presentation. I recommend this. We will also have dinner together (optional) on the way home that evening.
- Before November 18 – Samaritan Purse. We need to decide if we want to do this and when. If we do it, we may want to combine it with a breakfast at the church. We should decide this and start planning next Sunday. Barb will give us more details and also has a DVD.
Birthdays:
- Meg – Oct. 11
- Sally – Oct. 12

Sunday AM Services:
Pastor Kisner continued his new series on E-Verbs. He spoke from Romans 2 on Judgment. If you missed it, you can hear it on the church website. Follow this LINK.
Sunday PM Service:
Dr. Drullinger spoke from Ephesians 3. He also gave a nice presentation of his Mission plans for South Africa. You can hear this by following this LINK.
We also heard an excellent duet by Daniel Erlandson and Lauren Cruz. They are cousins. I always enjoy hearing new talent. You can hear this one at this LINK.
We have included several links this week and will include one more. I know the Events page on our WHBC website has not been updated for at least two years. But, this is now working again. We will try to keep the current month and next month updated on a regular basis. So, this is an excellent place to check if you are planning activities or just want to know when something is planned. Check the church monthly calendar HERE. Our website is intended to be a valuable resource. Take advantage of it.
