Ambassadors Notes for the week of June 24th

I purposely posted this later than normal because we will not have a class-time July 1st. Be sure to get any prayer requests and updates to me by phone or email and I will provide an email with this information. Only one person has figured out our mystery person of the week for last week. Any more guesses? I will post another photo after July 1st. Please send or give your photos to me. Otherwise, I will assume there is no interest and will discontinue this feature. John Burkard substituted as our teacher last Sunday and shared from his heart about “How aught we to live”. See below for more on this. In the morning Celebration service Pastor Kisner preached on “Our identity and unity as the body of Christ”. The choir also presented a beautiful piece called “I choose Jesus”. You can find these on the Church Website here . June 24 th in the evening we had a very good turnout to vote concerning the building program. The vote was 89% in favor of going forward with the new building. This ...

Guess Who #2

Image
The last "Guess Who" post was way too easy. Jerry's past occupation gave it away. This week we'll have one that is a bit more difficult. Let's see how many of you can guess who this cute little fishing girl might be. Send email to me if you think you know who it is. Remember, you must send or hand pictures to me to get them posted. Perhaps, it would be fun to surprise your spouse and submit something without his/her knowledge. I don't want to be mediating any marriage problems. BTW: I don't think this lady is aware this is posted. I guess she may figure it out when she sees the email for this week. Question #2: Did she catch these, or are they daddy's? Question #3: What model is the car?

Ambassadors Notes – Sunday, June 17, 2007

Sunday was another great day in our class and in the church services. We had some great discussions in our ABF. I also enjoyed pastor Kisners sermon and discussion in the Celebration service and the Vacation Bible School presentations in the evening. Don’t forget to check out the next entry and others throughout the coming weeks and months to see if you can guess who our person of the week is. She is a doll, isn’t she! Please send photos of yourselves, spouses, or others if you think you can stump the class. I think childhood and costume photos will work best. Let's move on to the important stuff: Prayer list Health Jerry S will have pancreatic surgery Tuesday just before noon. Pray for his health and also for wisdom for his surgeon. Jerry expects to be in the hospital about 5 days. Updated 6/22/2007 - Jerry came through the surgery very well and the biopsy is negative. Praise the Lord! He is having a lot of pain; so continue to pray for him during the recovery process. Continue t...

Ambassadors Notes for June 10, 2007

I'll highlight additions and changes in red that have been made since the email went out on Monday. Remember, this is a Blog and can easily be changed or updated. So, if you have changes or additions you would like here, let me know. We had a good turnout today but not a record breaker. What a beautiful day for outdoor activities but even more beautiful in our House of the Lord! Sunday we passed around a brochure and sign-up list for the Cool Films Series in the Victoria Theatre. In case you missed this, it is a great opportunity to do something fun with others in our ABF. We often use this as an excuse to go somewhere nice to eat (generally Uno’s) then go to a fun old movie classic. This year you can get a booklet of 10 tickets for the series for $24 (I think the cost is $3 for single tickets at the door). The series runs for nine weekends and will include 11 movies. These are movies from the late 1930s through the early 1970s. The first weekend is June 29 – July 1 and the last ...
