Ambassador Notes for Sunday, March 30

We had a good day today. We have a number of people away for the weekend but still had fun fellowshipping together and opening God’s Word.

Dennis’ Lesson:
This week we reviewed where we have been the last few weeks in James 2. We discussed 2:14 and how our faith is dead without works. Our salvation is by Faith first then we are to exhibit our faith through works.

We continued in verses 18 and 19 - 18But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. 19You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

We are to demonstrate our faith by what we do. Many people believe that our salvation is merely by believing that there is a Christ. However, as we can see in verse 19, even the demons know that and fear God. We are differentiated by or faith and trust in Christ with outward proof through works.

Morning Celebration Services:
Today Pastor Kisner is away so we had Randy Tate do his sermon in the morning. Randy continued his series on “What is Truth?” based on the question from Pilate. Today he covered “Why do we have Evil?” or perhaps, “Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?” You can listen to this sermon on our website HERE.


Evening Family Service:
Tonight we had the privilege of hearing one of our members speak. Don Rickard gave a nice talk about what transpired during the sixties. I think this rolls in very nicely with our recent discussions in our ABF and also worked well with what Randy Tate has been doing. Check for this on the sermons page HERE. Grace also did a very nice piano recital that is on the same page.


Ambassadors Blog:
I have been negligent on updating our blog as before. However, I will start updating this again using some of the material from the newsletters that you will find useful on an on-going basis, such as the schedules and dates.

Most of you are not aware that I have also started another blog for the YAH Ministries. You may find some of the material there interesting also. This past weekend was a great one. We all had a good time of fun and fellowship together Saturday evening as we gathered for our annual Christmas celebration. The food was way to plentiful and good! I know I am not the only one to over-eat! I think it was John who is the new owner of the golden goose! But this wasn’t the only weird gift to be won. Ask Rosalinda about her jeans! It was perfect for our needs. Sunday was also another good time together as a class. John and Sandy gave us a “ Long and Short of it ” showing of their trip to Israel. Ambassadors ABF Notes for May 20th

Naiya Symone Simpson This Sunday was a little different for us; two weeks in a row, now. Dennis is still under the weather with a chest cold or something giving him pain. Please pray for him. Last Sunday we were fortunate to have Larry Smith give us an update taking most of our class time. This week, we spent the majority of the time doing prayer requests and praying. I think these times are especially good and they are pleasing to our Lord. I know I personally get more out of a prayer time like this. Anyway, instead of our normal dog on pony show with myself, John, and Roger Brandt plus Dennis before you, everyone was stuck with the dog, ME! Visitor We had a long distance visitor with us this Sunday. His name is Charles. He is an ESOL Student of Barb Sullivan’s and comes all the way from North Central China. Ambassadors Class Game Night (05/09/2008)

Friday evening, May 9th, we had a game night in the church for our class. We all played table games and ate snack foods. I would have liked to see more in attendance but I know that this Mother’s day weekend may have posed problems for some. As you can see from the photos below, we played a variety of games. Good times for fellowship and discussion. But, someone must be the expert to explain the rules. Hmmm, looks like our lawyer is examining the evidence! Watch out! This one will hurt! Hey!
